Facilities Management Services (FMS) at Carnegie Mellon University has released an RFP for an artful, peripheral way to communicate current energy usage to the campus community. The goal of the project is based on the idea that if community members are aware of their power usage, especially during high-load seasons (summer, finals, etc), they will be more conscious of their decisions to conserve energy.

Digital Fireflies revolves around the idea of a passive interaction between the physical realm and digital interaction. Building on the preferences of the home owners, we’ve set up a projection system that imitates fireflies but also reacts to the temperature of the immediate surrounding context. This display as a passive overlay on the residential landscape is bound to create a soothing experience and elevate the sense of the space and nature as well.

Garden Flow is an installation that makes the garden into an ideal space for yoga. We were inspired by Zen Gardens and wanted to provide similar ambiance and experience for our clients.

Inspired by the serenity of bamboo forests, Projection Reflection connects the natural elements of wind, light, and water in an interactive outdoor design.

Memory Capsules is an interactive installation located on the bridge connecting Google leased buildings on either side of Penn Avenue. Residents of East Liberty are encouraged to share various memories and stories of their experiences. On the bridge, Google employees can learn more about the community and history around them. They can also respond to these memories thus starting a thread that residents below or other Google employees can continue.

The project is an attempt to start a dialogue on how individuals can affect the urban space. An urban space not matter now grand it is or modest it is, the mood of the individuals and the group as a collective dictates how one experiences it. The bridge acts as a medium for the user to affect the surrounding.

Using data collected by google search and google assistant, highlight the differences and spread of news topics in different regions in real time, illustrated on color density displays. The ability to view the difference in spread as well as see the data in different scales makes the audience aware of the larger discourse.

Message is a digital platform for Google and its employees to interact with languages and communicate with its local context.

The project conceptualizes the real-time visualization of data collected through Google's search engine, to provide both the public (viewing the exterior) and the employees (walking through the interior) with distinctive interactive experiences in the bridge.

Typically, people cannot remember their sleep, so by recording it and keeping a memory of your sleep, then you can begin to reflect on how you sleep and what effects your sleep quality. The night light patterns are based on the data of previous sleep. What does mapping your sleep teach you? Does the night light help you sleep better?
